Supervision
Supervision
The BACP ethical framework describes supervision as; “A specialised form of mentoring provided for practitioners responsible for undertaking challenging work with people”.
I have worked in health care settings ranging from primary to secondary care and from acute physical health to mental health since 1993 and can offer supervision to those working in a variety of roles in the helping professions. I work as a counsellor for Macmillan and bring this experience into what I offer in supervision.
What I Offer in Supervision:
I will work alongside you to nurture your therapeutic development through self-discovery. I share the image below of what I bring to supervision
Compass: A sense of direction where maybe there is confusion. Open arms in the world: I am here; present, available and we are in the world together. Long and winding road: At times the work may be hard or long, and we will travel together with resilience. Hanging on to a heart: I will hang on to my love for humanity, growth and therapy to bring to the work when times are tough. Open coloured hands: I can offer creative ways of working. Huge tree: I am rooted and grounded in nature. It supports all my therapeutic work. Pictures on a line: I am interested in you and your world and experience. Glasses: I will offer a different perspective. A person with a head torch: When the work is dark or difficult I will shine a light on the bigger picture. Ripples in water: I care about the work we do and the impact it has on us, our clients, and the lives of those around our clients.
My therapeutic practice is with adults so I am not able to offer supervision to those working with children.
I work exclusively in my practice online and on the telephone. I have the expertise and knowledge to supervise those who are using this medium for their therapeutic work.
I offer individual supervision for 60 - 90 minutes dependent on your requirements. This is usually monthly or fortnightly.
